The Government clearly said that the HZ could not get assets
from the state budget for a salaries' increase. Direct damage
caused by the strike, amounting to 1,6 million kunas per day, will
put into question the payment of November salaries as well, HZ
management director Marijan Klaric said.
According to the Labour Act, the employer has the right to
reduce salaries for the time spent on strike, but the HZ management
has not made a decision on it yet, Klaric added.
The HZ management has called for the continuation of
negotiations with all nine railway workers' unions, which are to be
held today.
