MOSTAR, 25 Nov (Hina) - Mijo Brajkovic, general director of the
Mostar factory for the production of anodes 'Aluminij' on Monday
signed two 30-million-dollar contracts with representatives of the
U.S. company 'Venco' and 'CTI' from Venezuela.
According to the contracts, 'Aluminij' will produce anodes for
'Venco', while CTI is to provide assistance in starting the
production in the Mostar factory.
It is expected that 'Aluminij' will start producing anodes by
mid February next year.
The production process in 'Aluminij' stopped in 1992, after
the former Yugoslav People's Army (JNA) and Bosnian Serbs shelled
the factory. Before the war, 'Aluminij' was number one in the
production of anodes and the largest Bosnian exporter. It had some
3,000 employees.
