President Tudjman expressed gratitude for hospitality as well
as a permanent interest in the development of Croatian-American
relations. In fostering these relations, both countries should not
allow to be obstructed by those individuals who, because of their
ambitions and narrow-mindedness, do not realize how important and
far-reaching these relations are, President Tudjman said.
Vice President Gore said he appreciated President Tudjman's
role as well as the role of the Republic of Croatia in achieving
and implementing the Washington and Dayton agreements. He also
expressed a permanent interest of the United States in deepening
its friendship with Croatia, stressing he was pleased to be able to
cooperate with President Tudjman in establishing such relations.
The Croatian President invited Vice President Gore to visit
Croatia, the statement from the President's office said.
