ZAGREB, Nov 20 (Hina) - A delegation of the Croatian Government,
led by a Deputy Prime Minister, Dr. Ivica Kostovic, began talks
with a delegation of the UNTAES, led by the Transitional
Administrator Jacques P. Klein, and with a delegation of local
Serbs from the Croatian Danubian area, led by Dr. Vojislav
Stanimirovic, at 12:30 p.m. Wednesday in Zagreb.
Croatian Government's sources said that the closed-door talks
would revolved around priorities of the peaceful reintegration of
the Croatian Danubian area into the constitutional and legal system
of the Republic of Croatia.
After the joint meeting of the three delegations, working
groups are to hold separate talks on public companies, education
and transportation in the Croatian Danubian area as well as on the
return to Baranja.
Besides Kostovic, Croatian ministers in those fields and their
deputies, the head of the Government's office for the temporary
administration in the Croatian Danubian area Ivica Vrkic, the head
of the office for displaced people and refugees Damir Zoric, and
the president of the public companies' coordination for the issues
of Croatian Danubian area Dr. Ivan Majdak were included in the
Croatian delegation.
Statements are expected to be available to journalists at
about 16:00 p.m.
