PARIS, Nov 14 (Hina) - A conference on consolidating peace in
Bosnia-Herzegovina began in Paris on Thursday with opening
addresses by French Foreign Minister Herve de Charette and the
international community's High Representative, Carl Bildt.
The conference was expected to define civilian aspects of the
international effort in Bosnia-Herzegovina in the next two years
and present a declaration on peace consolidation drawn up by the
Steering Committee of the Peace Implementation Council which was
set up two years ago after the signing of the Dayton peace accords.
Attending the conference were the foreign ministers of France,
the United States, Germany, Britain and Russia, Bosnian Presidency
members Alija Izetbegovic, Kresimir Zubak and Momcilo Krajisnik,
foreign ministers Mate Granic of Croatia and Milan Milutinovic of
Yugoslavia, and representatives of the European Union, the European
Commission, NATO, the Organization for Security and Cooperation in
Europe, UN, UNHCR and the Organization of Islamic Conference.
The closing ceremony will held in the Elysee Palace later in
the afternoon.
