The Kopcic village is the only one in the Bugojno municipality
included in the project of reconstruction of 50 Moslem and 50 Croat
war-damaged houses, which is financed by the Swedish and Austrian
Caritas.
The project should contribute to the acceleration of the
return of refugees in line with the Dayton Agreement.
"Croats in Bugojno are still exposed to pressure from the
extremist part of the Moslem population, who threaten their
personal safety and property, and the local Moslem authorities do
not show readiness to oppose the organized pressures on Croats,"
the Bugojno municipal council officials said, citing a number of
examples of abuse of Croats, the most extreme example having
happened recently in the village of Bristovi where a Croat family
was beaten up.
