WORLD WAR II BOMB FOUND NEAR ISLAND IN ADRIATIC

Autor: ;LM;
VIR, Nov 8 (Hina) - A 200-kilogram bomb dating from World War II found near an island in the central Adriatic will be destroyed next week. The bomb lies near the coast of the island of Vir at a depth of three metres and was found by a resident of the island this summer. As it is completely covered with scale and algae, it is estimated that it was dropped from an aircraft during the second world war. This is also confirmed by the fact that Serb aircraft did not fly over this area during the Serb aggression on Croatia. The Zadar County police told reporters on Friday that pyrotechnists would destroy the bomb on Tuesday, November 12, and a visit for reporters would be organized. The Pyrotechnists will drag the bomb several hundred metres further away from the island, to a greater depth, and activate t. (hina) lm jn 081145 MET nov 96
