ZAGREB, Oct 23 (Hina) - Croatian Parliament's Speaker Vlatko
Pavletic on Wednesday received Austria's Ambassador to Croatia,
Andreas Berlakovich, on a farewell visit.
Berlakovich was the first Austrian ambassador to the
independent Croatia. He took office on January 1991.
The Croatian official thanked Berlakovich and his country for
support they had offered to Croatia in the last five years.
Berlakovich congratulated on Croatia's admission to the
Council of Europe, and said it was the country's first step on the
pathway to Western Europe.
Andreas Berlakovich, a Burgenland Croat by origin, will be
replaced by Rudolf Bogner, also a Burgenland Croat, as of January
next year.
