Crnic explained the status of the Constitutional Court in
Croatia, stressing that it had an independent constitutional status
and that its decisions were mandatory and executive.
He added that in some sectors, the Constitutional Court could
annul the decisions of the Supreme Court.
Stressing that the status of constitutional courts was similar
in the two countries, Kalvoda said that the status of the Croatian
Constitutional Court was stronger than in the Czech Republic.
After talks with Crnic, Kalvoda is to visit the Croatian
district prison and in the afternoon he is to be received by
Croatian Foreign Minister Mate Granic.
