SPLIT, Oct 15 (Hina) - The IFOR logistic base at Divulje near
Split (central Croatian Adriatic coast) is under command of the
IFOR chief logistic headquarters based in Zagreb as of Tuesday,
October 15.
The closing of the Divulje logistic headquarters was marked
today by a ceremony at which the base commander, Germany's
Brigadier-General Holger Kammerhoff said the base had accepted 115
ships, 280 trains, several thousand convoys and helped carry out
ten thousand flights.
The medical department evacuated and brought in hospital many
soldiers of the multinational IFOR force serving in Bosnia as well
as a sizable number of seriously wounded civilians.
Brigadier-General Kammerhoff thanked to all who had been
engaged in the IFOR action, and emphasized good cooperation with
the Croatian Government and Split-Dalmatia County authorities.
At the ceremony fifteen IFOR officers received NATO medals,
awarded to them from NATO Secretary-General Javier Solana.
