ZUPANJA, Oct 9 (Hina) - IFOR engineers late Tuesday night set up
a pontoon bridge over the Sava river between the eastern Croatian
town of Zupanja and the northern Bosnian town of Orasje.
The 300 metre long bridge with a bearing capacity of 90 tons
was built to enable the withdrawal of a US IFOR armoured division
from northern Bosnia-Herzegovina, IFOR officials in Slavonski
Brod said in a statement.
About 5,000 IFOR infantry troops are expected to deploy
until the end of this month to secure the pullout of American
armour.
The recently rebuilt road bridges between Gunja and Brcko,
and Slavonski Brod and Bosanski Brod will also be used in the US
withdrawal.
