The Croatian Foreign Minister reiterated four main aims of
Croatia's external policy. The first aim was the peaceful
reintegration of the Croatian Danubian area as had been agreed
between President Tudjman and U.N. Transitional Administrator in
eastern Slavonia, General Jacques Klein. The second aim was the
application of the Dayton and Washington agreements. The third aim
was the normalization of relations with neighboring countries and
the establishment of economic ties with the Central European Free
Trade Association (CEFTA), while the fourth aim was its integration
into Euro-Atlantic associations. The first step toward achieving
the fourth aim was Croatia's integration into the Partnership for
Peace program, Granic said.
Today's session was also addressed by Vice Premier Borislav
Skegro, Croatian National Bank Governor Marko Skreb and Finance
Minister Bozo Prka, who spoke about Croatia's economic situation.
Speaking about possible results of the Brussels conference,
Vice Premier Borislav Skegro said that the maintaining of political
and macroeconomic stability in the country was the most important
pre-condition for all foreign partners who wanted to invest into
Croatia.
A large number of foreign investors was familiar and satisfied
with Croatian achievements in that area, Skegro said.
