ZAGREB, Oct 14 (Hina) - An American frigate, the USS Klakring, would visit Dubrovnik on Tuesday at an invitation of Croatia's Navy, the U.S. Embassy in Zagreb reported on Monday.
ZAGREB, Oct 14 (Hina) - An American frigate, the USS Klakring,
would visit Dubrovnik on Tuesday at an invitation of Croatia's
Navy, the U.S. Embassy in Zagreb reported on Monday. #L#
The U.S. Navy ship will remain in Dubrovnik for three days,
and her crew will meet with Croatian Navy officials. Dubrovnik
citizens are invited to tour the ship.
The USS Klakring is assigned to the U.S. Navy Sixth Fleet in
the Mediterranean.
The USS Klakring is manned by 210 officers and sailors, and
her home port is Norfolk, Virginia. Some of armament she has are
Harpoon and Standard missiles, the Phalanx anti-aircraft system,
six torpedo tubes and two helicopters.
Croatia's Defence Minister Gojko Susak, U.S. Ambassador to
Croatia Peter Galbraith and U.S. Commodore Paul Danks, Commander of
Destroyer Squadron 20, would participate in the programme of the
U.S. naval vessel to Dubrovnik, the same source said.
