COMMISSIONS FOR MISSING PERSONS END MEETING WITH PARTIAL RESULTS

Autor: ;VM;
BELGRADE, Oct 3 (Hina) - The Croatian and Yugoslav government commissions for missing persons ended a two-day meeting in Belgrade on Thursday with partial results. The two sides exchanged information on persons whose name had so far not been on lists of missing persons. Less information on missing persons was exchanged than the Croatian side had expected. Different methodologies of work resulted in difficulties in the exchange of information on identified and unidentified persons who had been killed in the war. Therefore, the two sides agreed to consider concrete cases at the next meeting rather than wait for one side to present answers to all queries of the other. Major Ivan Grujic, the head of the Croatian delegation and president of the government commission for missing persons and detainees, reiterated Croatia's demand for information on all missing persons and not just those from the Vukovar area. The head of the International Red Cross office in Belgrade, Francois Bellone, who had attended the meeting, supported the efforts of the two sides, urging them to provide all answers required as soon as possible.
