The chairman of the meeting, Polish journalist Konstantin
Geberta, told a press conference today that the source of problems
concerning the Bosnian media lay in the overall situation in the
country and in the policy of the international community.
Allen Kassof, president of the U.S. agency which organized the
meeting, said that the media situation in Bosnia-Herzegovina 'is
far from normal'.
The participants in the meeting said that Mostar was the most
difficult area to work in. They agreed to ask from the European
Union Administration in Mostar to secure free distribution of
newspapers from Croatia and the Croat-Muslim Federation in both
parts of the city.
