Croatian Ambassador to Japan Andjelko Simic was present at
Friday's ceremony in the Japanese town of Gifu, where he met the
town's highest officials and officials of the town of Miyam, and
presented Croatia, especially its possibilities for cooperation
with Japan.
The Gifu county leadership expressed interest for this
symbolic action to be extended to Croatian towns and villages which
had been under occupation, where many trees had been destroyed.
They also discussed the possibility of the county to help in
the reconstruction of destroyed bridges, especially in the Sisak
County (about 50 kilometres south-east of Zagreb).
