ZAGREB, Sept 20 (Hina) - German businessmen were interested in the
privatization of large public enterprises in Croatia, particularly
in the fields of telecommunications and the power industry, members
of the German Federal Parliament's Economy Committee said on Friday
during talks with Croatian Economy Minister Davor Stern.
They added that the privatization of those enterprises would
lead to lower prices for the population.
Croatia was willing to continue discussing those issues with
German partners since it expected further increase of German
investments and help with Croatia's entry into European
integrations, Stern said.
Head of the German delegation Ernst Schwanhold said that
Croatia should wait for long-term investors and work on providing
stability in the region and propitious conditions for the
development of trade.
The German delegation evaluated that there important and
positive progress was evident in many fields of the Croatian
economy and promised that Germany would continue to support to
Croatia's outlined economy policy.
