The purchase of 30 new wagons, 10 out of which would be first
class, 10 second and 10 with compartments, all with air-
conditioners and capable of withstanding a speed of 200 kilometres
per hour, would improve the quality of the Croatian Railways in
international transport and thus fully maintain HZ's position in
the system of European railways, Klaric said.
Using Siemens technology, 40 used wagons, half of which belong
to the "Janko Gredelj" company, would be completely reconstructed
and air-conditioned.
The delivery of the first set of wagons is expected in
September 1997 and the whole project and delivery of all wagons
will be completed by the end of 1998.
