ZAGREB, July 12 (Hina) - The Croatian government on Friday adopted
amendments to the law on the Croatian Privatization Fund which
would define the jurisdiction of the Privatization Fund and the
Ministry of Privatization and Property Management.
The government approved 5.7 million kuna (DM 1.6 million) from
current budget reserves for the payment of net wages to the
employees of the "Zeljezara Sisak" ironworks and the "Pazinka"
food-processing company which are in the process of financial
rehabilitation.
On the basis of a constitutional obligation to take care of
Croats in foreign countries, the government decided to earmark 30
million kuna (DM 8.6 million) for the reconstruction of war-damaged
or destroyed buildings in Bosnian Federation cantons with the
predominant Croat population.
The government passed a decree on July pensions, due for
payment in August, under which pensioners would be granted a 100
kuna (DM 28.6) bonus.
Prime Minister Zlatko Matesa announced for next week a
thorough discussion on the principles for drafting a 1997 budget.
