MOSTAR, 12 July (Hina) - The EU Administration in Mostar last
night publicized the results of 30 June local elections in
consultation with the EU Administration and EU Administrator Ricard
Perez Casado, aide to the EU Administrator of Mostar, Martin
Garrod, told a press conference on Friday. The EU Administration of
Mostar decided to publicize the election results only after it had

'Voters must not be denied the right to be informed about
election results', Garrod said, expressing concern that the same
'syndrome' might occur at the general elections, scheduled for
September.
Commenting on the statement of the President of the Federation
of Bosnia-Herzegovina, Kresimir Zubak, that the general elections
should not include local elections since the boundaries of new
municipalities have still not been established, Garrod said that
the September elections are under the jurisdiction of the
Organisation for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE), and not
of the European Union.
The deadline for any complaints regarding Mostar elections had
expired, Garrod added.
EU Administration spokesman Dragan Gasic said that EU
ombudsman Constantin Zepos' decision to overrule a decision by the
Mostar Election Commission on the annulment of election results at
the polling station in Bonn, because of 26 extra ballots, was
definite. 'We are bound by that decision', Gasic added.
