ZAGREB, July 1 (Hina) - The Summer School of Ruthenians and
Ukrainians of the Republic of Croatia - Zagreb '96, was opened in
Zagreb on Monday, under the patronage of the Croatian Education and
Sports Ministry and in the organization of the Ruthenians and
Ukrainians Association.
Attending the school are some 90 elementary and 60 high school
pupils, who from 1 to 20 July will be learning Ruthenian and
Ukrainian, history, geography, folklore, music and art. This year
there are 20 teachers working at the summer school, from Croatia,
Slovakia and Ukraine.
Opening the 32nd summer school, Higher Advisor at the Croatian
Education and Sports Ministry, Nikola Radacic, expressed hope that
the next summer school would be held where it belonged, that is
eastern Slavonia.
