ZAGREB, June 18 (Hina) - Croatian President Franjo Tudjman on
Tuesday received credentials from the first Macedonian Ambassador
to Croatia, Servet Avziu.
"The efforts of our countries for peace and stability in this
region and our aspiration towards integration into European and
Euro-Atlantic structures represent a firm basis for spreading and
deepening cooperation between our two countries", Avziu said.
"There are few such peoples so close in their general
aspirations as the Croat and Macedonian", Tudjman said.
Even though the Croats did not belong to the Balkans, but the
Mediterranean and Central Europe, Croatia would not only normalize
but also develop overall relations, particularly with Macedonia,
thus contributing to the strengthening of peace in the region,
President Tudjman said.
