ZAGREB, 4 June (Hina) - After a heated and lengthy discussion, the
Parliament House of Counties on Tuesday supported with majority of
votes amendments to the Act on foreign exchange system bases,
foreign exchange transactions and gold transactions.
The proposed amendments are aimed at redefining the
functioning of the foreign exchange market, without bank monopoly.
The amendments envisage more severe sanctions for purchase
violations and foreign currency resale. The act is in favor of
exporters, Deputy Finance Minister Mijo Jukic said during the
discussion.
The House of Counties also supported the Final Bill on foreign
affairs and the Final Bill on customs tariff which is in the third
reading.
The representatives also supported the Bill on the
confirmation of the change of the Montreal protocol on substances
which damage the ozone layer and the Bill on the confirmation of
the Consular Convention between Croatia and the Chinese National
Bank.
The representatives adopted a proposal a bill on mass media be
included in the agenda.
