NUSTAR/BRSADIN, May 10 (Hina) - Postal service between the
government-controlled and Serb-occupied parts of Croatia was
restored at the UN Nustar-Brsadin check point on Friday.
The UN transitional administrator in Eastern Slavonia, Baranja
and Western Srijem, US General Jacques Klein, had donated two
instruments, one for Nustar and the other for Serb-held Bilje, for
detecting whether postal packages contained explosive devices.
Deliveries would be made three times a week - on Tuesdays,
Thursdays and Saturdays - because Serbs had only one delivery van
at their disposal.
Postal workers from Vukovar asked Croatian Post and
Telecommunications (HPT) officials about possibilities of keeping
their jobs after the reintegration of the occupied areas into
Croatia.
