SARAJEVO, Feb 14 (Hina) - Bosnian Foreign Minister Jadranko Prlic
on Wednesday stated that the solution for Mostar could be found by
the end of the week. Croatian Foreign Minister Mate Granic would
arrive in Sarajevo soon and attend the talks on that problem, Prlic
told a press conference in Sarajevo. #L#
Prlic held the press conference with his Spanish counterpart
Carlos Westendorp. The status of Mostar would be clear once the
talks with the leadership of the Muslim-Croat Federation, both
Mostar mayors and EU representatives were held, Prlic said.
Presidents Tudjman and Izetbegovic had reached agreement in
principal about Mostar during their last night's phone
conversation, he added.
'I personally support such a solution which would satisfy both
sides', Prlic said, stressing there was no reason for the rejection
of the principle on the organisation of Mostar which was based on
six municipalities and one district and which had been agreed upon
earlier.
According to Prlic, Minister Westendorp had expressed his
support for EU Administrator of Mostar Hans Koschnik, but he had
also agreed that joint efforts should be taken in order to find the
way out of the current situation.
During his visit to Sarajevo, the Spanish Foreign Minister
held talks with high state officials. He said that his country
would continue to send humanitarian aid to Bosnia-Herzegovina and
that the Spanish IFOR forces would contribute to the strengthening
of peace in the region.
Spain was interested in participating in the programmes aimed
at the reconstruction of Bosnia-Herzegovina, Westendorp said,
announcing Madrid's help in the further integration of Bosnia-
Herzegovina into the European Union. Spain planned to open its
embassy in Sarajevo soon, he added.
