OSIJEK, Feb 9 (Hina) - French Ambassador in Zagreb met on Friday
evening officials with the Croatian government office for
transitional administration in eastern Slavonia, Baranja and
western Syrmium.
After meeting head of the Office Ivica Vrkic and his deputy
Mirko Tankosic, Ambassador Jean-Jacques Gaillard said the purpose
of his visit was to be "informed on the situation and the work of
the Office."
"It has been done a lot here, and some good steps have been
taken for restoration of confidence between the people on the both
sides," he added.
Earlier in the day, Gaillard met officials with the UNTAES
mission in Erdut. On Saturday he was to meet Serb officials in
Vukovar.
Ivica Vrkic also informed Gaillard on his meetings with the
local Serb officials, arranged to discuss farming works and public
health issues.
