After the meeting Brajkovic said they had discussed maps of
the future six municipalities of the city. He added that a
settlement to the problems was in the offing.
Brajkovic explained the term of the central district in
Mostar, which the European Union has proposed. He said it would
be a city zone where city, canton and federal services and
offices would be situated.
Croat representatives would like that Mostar be the capital
of Croats in Bosnia-Herzegovina, where national identity of other
peoples must be respected, Brajkovic said.
Hans Koschnik described the talks with Brajkovic as
positive, and added that they had talked how to organize Mostar
without neglecting the establishment of the joint police.
The EU Administrator is due to talk with the mayor of the
eastern part of Mostar, Safet Orucevic, this afternoon.
Today's talks are part of negotiations, which began on
Monday, on permanent settlement to the problems in Mostar.
