TOURISTS TO SPEND NEW YEAR HOLIDAYS IN DUBROVNIK HOTELS

( Editorial: --> 1620 ) DUBROVNIK, 30 Dec (Hina) - A far larger number of Dubrovnik hotels will be open during this year's New Year holidays than in previous years. Those include hotels 'Argentina', 'Plakir', 'Dubrovnik President', 'Sumartin' and 'Kompas'. According to Vladimir Bakic, director of the County Tourist Association, some 2,000 guests are expected in Dubrovnik hotels. Most of them will be from Croatia, but guests from Slovenia, Great Britain, France and Germany are also expected. A three-day half-board stay in the best known Dubrovnik hotel 'Argentina' will cost some US$200. The large number of tourists during New Year holidays announced a good tourism season for 1998, Bakic said. County tourism workers expect that tourist business would increase by 30 per cent in 1998.
