ZAGREB, 24 Dec (Hina) - On 15 December 1997, Croatia and the
Croatian armed forces applied with the European congress of the
international council for military sport (CISM) in Rome to host the
2nd world military games, to be held in 1999, the cabinet of the
Croatian Defence Ministry said in a statement Wednesday.
The application was accepted and Croatia signed a "Preliminary
Contract-Second Military World Games".
On the 50th anniversary of CISM, which will be marked on 18 February
1998 in Brussels, Defence Minister Gojko Susak and CISM president
for Croatia, Lieutenant General Josip Lucic, will sign a binding
contract on accepting the application, after which Croatia will be
officially declared the host of the 2nd military world games.
The 2nd military world games will be held in Zagreb 1999.
