ZAGREB, 16 Dec (Hina) - The Archbishop of Zagreb, Josip Bozanic, on
Tuesday delivered a Christmas message to the faithful and the
general public in Croatia.
"It can be said that in Croatia today Christ's path towards man is
marked by responsible solidarity for every citizen of our country,"
the Archbishop emphasised in the message carried by the Catholic
news agency IKA.
He continued: "Rapid changes in the political and economic system
enabled the fast enrichment of individuals and increasing
impoverishment of many citizens. In practice it is a sin of
structures allowed by laws and regulations, whose original aim was
not to the general benefit of people and the community."
Archbishop Bozanic added: "This society of ours, which conducted
transition when attention was concentrated on the war, has been
called upon in these postwar times to urgently re-examine the
difficult conditions in which a large part of the population found
itself, especially in our cities."
The Zagreb Archbishop in his message called for reconciliation and
coexistence in postwar Croatia.
