ILOK, Dec 5 (Hina) - The Croatian Government granted a total of 5.3
million kuna to the local municipal and town authorities in the
Croatian Danube river region which should be enough for their work
until the end of this year, Administration Minister Davorin Mlakar
said Friday.
During a meeting with Vukovar County Prefect Rudolf Koenig and
leaders of Ilok and surrounding municipalities, Mlakar and his
hosts discussed the property of former municipalities in the Danube
river region.
They stressed that clear property relations represent one of
preconditions for interested business people to buy ground and
build economic facilities on it.
Mlakar stressed that it was time for inspection services to start
functioning in the Danube river region, so that taxes could be
gathered and municipalities could start functioning.
Mlakar announced the payment of six-month allowances for 343
persons who worked in the former illegal bodies of authority, and
are not employed with the new authorities.
