VUKOVAR, Dec 3 (Hina) - A member of the Presidency of the Croatian
Democratic Union party (HDZ), Vladimir Seks, on Wednesday opened
the offices of the HDZ City Committee in Vukovar.
The Vukovar HDZ had a historic responsibility to create the basic
preconditions for the return of displaced persons, now that the
state-building goal had been accomplished, Seks said.
The first part of the HDZ programme - ensuring freedom and a state
for the Croatian people and all Croatian citizens had been
achieved, and it was now HDZ's key task to create conditions for
economic development and the opening of jobs, Seks said.
The party's secretary-general Ivan Valent stressed Vukovar was a
Croatian city, but also a city of each person who respected Croatian
laws and the city's legal authority. Croatians can forgive, and let
this be a collateral for coexistence of all citizens in the Republic
of Croatia, Valent said.
Present at the ceremony were also chairwoman of the National Trust
Establishment Committee, Vesna Skare-Ozbolt and her deputy Ivica
Vrkic, high state and local officials.
