SARAJEVO, Dec 2 (Hina) - The Bosnian parliament on Tuesday adopted a
law on the Council of Ministers drafted by the office of the
international High Representative.
Earlier in the day, Council of Ministers co-chairmen Haris
Silajdzic and Boro Bosic and deputy chairman Neven Tomic signed a
draft law on passports which had also been drawn up by experts from
the office of High Representative Carlos Westendorp.
The proposal contains a provision under which the blue passport
would display the name of Bosnia-Herzegovina printed in golden
letters in English and the word "passport" while the name of the
country's entities would also be printed in English but in twice as
small letters.
Deputies of the Serb Democratic Party (SDS) demanded that the name
of an entity be printed in letters two-thirds the size of those of
the name of the country.
The Croatian Democratic Union (HDZ) and the Moslem-led Party of
Democratic Action (SDA) insisted on the acceptance of the proposal
already signed by the Council of Ministers.
