LONDON, 27 Nov (Hina) - The London-based European Bank for
Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) granted Bosnia-Herzegovina
a loan amounting to 27.5 million German marks, the EBRD said in a
statement Thursday.
The loan is intended for the reconstruction of power plants,
transmission lines and power distribution grids in both Bosnian
entities.
The loan is also intended for the reorganisation of payment
operations of the electric power industry and the introduction of
modern accounting standards.
The reconstruction of the power supply system with the help of EBRD
loans should improve cooperation between the electric power
industries of the Federation of Bosnia-Herzegovina and Republika
Srpska as well as stimulate the exchange of electric power between
the two entities, the EBRD statement said.
