ZAGREB, 27 Nov (Hina) - The Croatian Government will ask the House
of Representatives to adopt urgently procedure laws on special
duties for the trading of personal vehicles and other motor
vehicles, vessels and aircraft, as well as on special duties for
coffee, beer and non-alcoholic drinks, the Government
Communications office said in a statement Thursday.
The statement was issued after a Government session which was held
behind closed doors.
The Government also adopted a draft project on the modernisation
and restructuring of railways in line with recommendations of the
World Bank Mission and the European Bank for Reconstruction and
Development (EBRD).
The Government adopted a report on negotiations between Croatia and
the EBRD on a loan for a project on wholesale markets.
The Government also adopted a decision on the establishment of a
joint stock company, the National Wholesale Market, which is to
take over the EBRD loan and sign contracts with new wholesale market
companies from Zagreb, Osijek, Rijeka, Split, Zadar, Metkovic and
Vukovar.
The establishment of the company is aimed at supporting the initial
development of wholesale markets, securing public interest in the
project and preventing monopolistic interests.
