SARAJEVO, Nov 25 (Hina) - The European Union will invest 11 million
German marks in the reconstruction of some of the most important
cultural objects in Sarajevo, including the City Hall building,
built during Austrian rule over Bosnia and heavily damaged during
the recent conflict.
According to Ivo Ilic Gabara, a spokesman for the EU mission in
Sarajevo, a memorandum on understanding was signed earlier today
with representatives of Sarajevo County. It envisages the
reconstruction of the Technical High School and the Kosevo Stadium
as well.
The project is the constituent part of a programme called Europe For
Sarajevo. According to European Union Ambassador to Bosnia Donato
Chiarini, the realization of the project represented a strong bond
between European countries and Sarajevo and its residents.
