MOSTAR, Nov 20 (Hina) - The Ministry of Transport and
Communications of the Zenica-Doboj Canton has demanded from the
Zenica branch of the Croatian Democratic Union (HDZ) party to
remove an aerial relaying three television channels of EROTEL, the
Croat-run television station in Mostar, EROTEL said in a statement
on Thursday.
"After frequent attacks on Croats in central Bosnia, the latest
attempt by Bosniac Moslems to disregard the broadcasting licences
granted in 1996 is aimed at discriminating against the Croat
population and encouraging them to leave," said the statement, sent
to international organisations in Bosnia-Herzegovina.
It said that the Croat community in the Zenica area would thus be
denied the only television programme in the Croatian language.
"Bosniac police have recently removed and misappropriated a
similar aerial which enabled Croat TV programmes to be seen in a
part of Sarajevo. After that the Bosniac press announced removal of
other similar equipment," the statement said.
