ZAGREB, 18 Nov (Hina) - The trial of Mladen Naletilic-Tuta, which
started before the Zagreb County Court on Tuesday, was adjourned
before the indictment was read as Naletilic's defence demanded
exemption of the president of the panel of judges, Damir Kos, and
all panel members.
The defence also demanded exemption of all judges of the County
Court and its president, of the Supreme Court President Milan
Vukovic, Deputy County Attorney Marija Jambor and of the Zagreb
County Attorney and State Attorney Marijan Hranjski.
Naletilic was charged with kidnapping Robert Nosic and assaulting
police officers in Ljubuski, Citluk and Mostar in 1993, when he was
commander of the Siroki Brijeg-based Convict Brigade of the
Croatian Defence Council (HVO).
Naletilic was also charged with inciting a Convict Brigade member
to kill Damir Brekalo in Siroki Brijeg in 1995.
Judge Kos scheduled the trial for 20 November, when it will be seen
whether Naletilic's request is granted and when it will be decided
before which panel the trial will resume.
