ZAGREB, Nov 17 (Hina) - Croatian Premier Zlatko Matesa and Economy
Minister Nenad Porges received a delegation of the Croatian
Employers' Association (HUP) on Monday, the government's
communications office said in a statement.
They discussed how to define the status of the Association and
further promote the cooperation between the Government and HUP.
They agreed that HUP representatives would accompany Premier
Matesa during his forthcoming visit to Romania.
The HUP supported the government's programme for the
implementation of the value added tax (VAT), and agreed that the
government and the HUP would together follow the introduction of
the VAT in the first four months.
They considered problems and causes of insolvency, and agreed on
the close cooperation between the government and the HUP on
employment in connection with proposed government measures for the
labour market and pension and health insurance reforms, the
statement said.
