OPATIJA, Nov 13 (Hina) - The directors of seven railway companies
from countries between the Danube River and the Adriatic Sea began
an annual meeting in the northern Croatian Adriatic resort of
Opatija on Thursday.
The meeting, organised by Croatian Railways, involves
representatives of railway companies from the so-called G-4
countries, including Austria, Croatia, Hungary and Slovenia, which
were later joined by Bosnia-Herzegovina and Slovakia, and the
railway society GYSEV.
G-4 chairman Helmut Hainitz said that the meeting would focus on the
restructuring and reorganisation of railways and the adjustment of
quality of transport services along the tenth pan-European traffic
corridor.
In his welcoming remarks Croatian Railways director Marijan Klaric
expressed hope that the cooperation of G-4 and their mutual
business tolerance would remain on the highest level regardless of
competition.
