ZAGREB, Nov 6 (Hina) - President Franjo Tudjman received a
delegation of Croatian judges on Thursday ahead of a conference
which is to discuss the position of courts of law and judges in
Croatia, the President's Office said in a statement.
President Tudjman said that, as the head of state, he attached
importance to the efficiency of the judiciary in the implementation
of the constitutional and legal order, stressing that the judiciary
in Croatia had to be organised like the judiciary of a modern
state.
Attending were Presidential Chief of Staff Hrvoje Sarinic, Justice
Minister Miroslav Separovic and Presidential Advisers Ivic Pasalic
and Smiljko Sokol.
The delegation of judges included Milan Vukovic, President of the
Supreme Court; Ante Potrebica, Vice President of the Supreme Court
and President of the State Judicial Council; and presidents of the
Administrative Court, the High Commercial Court and county courts,
the statement concluded.
