MIKLUSEVCI, Nov 2 (Hina) - Some 100 displaced Ruthenians from the
Miklusevci village, UN-administered part of the eastern Croatian
Vukovar-Srijem County, on Sunday visited their village on the
occasion of All Souls' Day.
They paid respects to their deceased, while representatives of the
Association of Ruthenians and Ukrainians of Croatia laid wreaths.
Miroslav Kis, chairman of the parliament's committee for human
rights, recalled in Ruthenian the sufferings of Ruthenians and
Ukrainians from Croatia during the Homeland War. Over 230 either
died or were killed which, he said, was over 3.5 percent of the total
figure of those nationalities in Croatia.
About 2,250 Ruthenians lived in the villages of Miklusevci and
Petrovci before the war.
