VINKOVCI/VUKOVAR, Oct 31 (Hina) - Croatian Radio Vukovar suspended
its move from Vinkovci to Vukovar, as its directors disapproved of a
transmitter of Serb Radio Vukovar being installed on the top of the
building housing the Croatian radio offices.
The Croatian radio offices are located on the top floor of an 11-
storey hotel in the suburb of Borovo.
The one-kW transmitter of the Serb radio is being set on the roof of
the building, just above the offices of the Croatian radio, which
will jam Croatian radio broadcasts, director Zeljko Fekete said on
Friday.
"Until the transmitter has not been relocated, Croatian Radio
Vukovar will not begin broadcasting from Vukovar," Fekete said.
Zdravko Dumencic, a Croatian Radio and Television (HTV) worker
installing the transmitter, stressed that it would not jam Croatian
Radio Vukovar transmissions, adding that the transmitter would be
relocated in about 15 days.
Croatian Radio Vukovar began moving back to the Danube river town on
28 October and was expected to resume broadcasting from it in early
November.
