SARAJEVO, 21 Oct (Hina) - The international community stands firmly
behind the Dayton agreement, the British Defence Minister George
Robertson stated at a press conference, held at the end of his two-
day visit to Bosnia-Herzegovina, in Sarajevo Tuesday.
This is the most important message Robertson conveyed during his
official talks with the President of the Bosnian Presidency, Alija
Izetbegovic, Foreign Minister Jadranko Prlic and the Republika
Srpska President Biljana Plavsic, whom Robertson met in Banja Luka
yesterday.
We shall support everyone who cooperates in the implementation of
the peace agreement, but we shall strongly oppose those who try to
sabotage it as this is the only way to secure better life for people
in Bosnia-Herzegovina, which they certainly deserve, Robertson
said.
He also announced a new initiative which is aimed at speeding up the
removal of land mines in Bosnia.
We want to continue the work started by Princess Diana, who visited
Bosnia-Herzegovina for the last time on such a mission, Robertson
said.
The British defence ministry will establish a special co-
ordination on mine-removal operations and secure the necessary
equipment and staff, Robertson said.
