SARAJEVO, Sept 17 (Hina) - Senior legal advisors in the OSCE
electoral appeals subcommission, Sandra Mitchell and Stephen Bown,
have resigned from their posts as they are dissatisfied with some
decisions made by the OSCE (Organisation for Security and
Cooperation in Europe) during the Bosnia municipal elections.
In their statement given to journalists on Wednesday, Mitchell
and Bown said that concessions granted by the OSCE to some political
parties in the last moment and an OSCE arbitrary decision on the
change of rulings of the subcommission seriously affected the
integrity of the elections.
The two were concerned over the OSCE failure to punish the
Serb Democratic Party (SDS) for retaining continuously a war crimes
suspect, a notorious Serb ex-leader Radovan Karadzic, at posts in
the party.
