OSIJEK, Sept 10 (Hina) - The Croatian army commander of the Djakovo
district, Brigadier Dragan Bagaric, met in Osijek on Wednesday with the
commander of UN military observers in Eastern Slavonia, Brigadier Selvyn
Heaton of New Zealand.
Bagaric told reporters after the meeting that they had discussed the
peaceful reintegration of the UN-administered Danube river region into
Croatia.
Bagaric stressed that Croatian army troops would adhere to their
obligations and would not conduct any manoeuvres that might threaten that
process.
Heaton said that from the military point of view, the situation on the
ground was developing very well. He expressed confidence that after the
completion of the peaceful reintegration process people in the area would
continue to live normal lives.
