DUBROVNIK, Aug 17 (Hina) - The fifth course in piano playing of
the European Piano Teachers' Association started in the south
Croatian port of Dubrovnik last Thursday (14 Aug) and is to last
until 23 August.
The head of the summer course is Jaksa Zlatar, a senior
lecturer at the Music Academy in Zagreb. Lecturers are renowned
British pianists and piano teachers, Alphons Kontarsky from
Germany, and U.S. professor Alberto Portugheis.
The course was organized by the Croatian Piano Teachers'
Association, in cooperation with the Luka Sorkocevic Art School
from Dubrovnik, and the Zagreb Concert Agency.
Between 23 and 25 August, Dubrovnik will also host the
Croatian parliament-sponsored European Congress of the European
Piano Teachers' Association, which is expected to gather
representatives of 40 piano teachers' associations from the
United States, Japan and South America.
