ZAGREB, July 29 (Hina) - Croatian Deputy Foreign Minister Ivo Sanader on
Tuesday received the deputy state secretary of the Hungarian Foreign
Ministry, Gabor Bagi, the Croatian Foreign Ministry said in a statement.
Sanader informed Bagi about the course of the peaceful reintegration
of the Danube region of eastern Croatia and the preliminary procedures for
the return of displaced persons there, including preliminary procedures for
the return of members of the Hungarian and other minorities, as well as for
the preservation of their rights and traditions.
During the talks both sides concluded that relations between Croatia
and Hungary are very good, and that bilateral contracts signed to date must
be used for the future development of these relations, especially in economy
and culture.
Speaking about the strategic directives of Croatia's foreign policy,
Sanader once again stressed the importance of stabilizing the situation in
south-eastern Europe. In this respect, he informed Bagi about the course of
the normalization of relations with Yugoslavia, and voiced Croatia's full
support to the implementation of the Dayton peace accord for Bosnia-
Herzegovina.
Sanader and Bagi arranged the continuation of regular working
consultations between the foreign ministries of Croatia and Hungary, the
statement by the Croatian Foreign Ministry concluded.
