ZAGREB, July 15 (Hina) - A meeting took place at the Croatian Railways
management offices in Zagreb on Tuesday, as the final meeting among
representatives of the World Bank, Croatian Maritime Affairs, Transport
and Telecommunications Ministry and Croatian Railways (HZ). The
participants summarised the two-week visit of the World Bank mission
representatives in Croatia.
They visited the HZ to observe the situation and draw up a plan for
the further restructuring and modernisation of Croatian Railways, the HZ
said in a statement.
World Bank mission representatives expressed satisfaction with the
two-week work and said they would present their report to the World
Bank's board of directors.
The Board of directors is expected to inform the Croatian
government by the end of the month about their stance on the
restructuring and modernisation of the HZ, and about the type and amount
of support the World Bank is willing to provide in the project, with the
cooperation of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development.
