Susak arrived in the United States on Sunday for his regular medical check-up.
Participants of the working meetings had clearly pointed out that the priority+
of
US foreign policy was the full implementation of the Dayton accords, Deputy +
Croatian
Defence Minister, Lt. Gen. Kresimir Cosic, said after the meetings.
"To that effect, further effective cooperation is expected of all who are
responsible for the full implementation of the Dayton Agreement in the upcoming
period," Cosic said.
Susak had pointed out everything Croatia had done in the implementation of
Dayton, from contribution to IFOR and SFOR missions, to the "Equip and Train"
programme, Cosic said, stressing that in the oncoming period, Croatia was +
expected to
do everything with the aim of solving all issues in the way of the full +
implementation of
the peace agreement for Bosnia-Herzegovina.
Croatia was asked to use its influence to ensure that war crimes suspects be
brought before the International Criminal Tribunal for the Former Yugoslavia +
(ICTY) in
The Hague.
The American side showed readiness to probe the possibilities of a more
effective work of the Tribunal, so that procedures be held in acceptable time +
frames.
Cosic stressed that, with the fulfilment of these conditions, Croatia would do
everything so that war crime suspects arrive before the Tribunal voluntarily, +
such as
had been the case with the commander of the Bosnian Croats, General Tihomir
Blaskic.
